Peacefully on Friday April 11th, 2008 at the Mattawa General Hospital. Linda (nee Humphrey) was the beloved wife of Kenneth Loya, at the age of 55. Loving mother of Monya Desloges (husband Marc) of Sudbury, Christine Loya-Horton (husband Harry) of New York State, Cathy Downes (husband Les) of Sudbury and Kenneth Jr. (wife Francine) of Mattawa. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Justin, Hunter, Devin, Haley, Joanna, Amanda, Holly, Samantha, Danny, and Taylor. Much loved daughter-in-law of Lucille Mott. Sadly missed by her siblings, Ron Humphrey (wife Bonnie), Marion Swift (husband Gilbert), Gary Humphrey, and sister-in-law Christine Humphrey. Predeceased by her parents Russell and Lorette Humphrey, and by her brother Gerald. Linda and Ken owned and operated a variety of businesses in Northern Ontario; they included Myrt's Family Restaurant in Mattawa, and the Red Cedar Lake Lodge in Martin River. Friends may call at MARTYN & SLOAN “Mattawa Chapel“ (530 McConnell St - 744-7400) on Tuesday April 15th from 7- 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday April 16th at 11 a.m. Interment of ashes will take place in the family plot in Cache Bay. If desired, a donation to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
