LONG, Chester Wilford

Chester Long was surrounded by his loving family, at Eastholme, Powassan when he died on Saturday, August 25, 2007 in his 88th year. Chester of Powassan, and formerly of North Bay, was the beloved husband of Grace Laura (Fraser) of Powassan. He was the much loved: father of Ed (Lorraine) of Callander, Betty Anne (Michael Park) of North Bay and Eric (Donna Lee) of Huntsville; grandfather of Jeff, Carrie, Brad, Kevin, Francine and Bernadette; great- grandfather of Tamara, Kaitlynn, Hailey, Spencer, Kaydin and the late Tammy. He is survived by his sister Ella Richardson (Bob) of B.C. and was predeceased by his brothers Eric (Rosina, deceased), George (Val, deceased), and Arnold (Irene of B.C.). He was the dear brother-in-law of May Munro (Angus, deceased) of Powassan, Dave Fraser (Hilda) of North Bay, Doug Fraser (Donna) of Saskatoon, the late Ethel Geisler (Art, deceased) and the late Erva Rowlandson (Bob, deceased).



Chester was a loving family man, and proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a people person, who was a friend to all and had a great sense of humour. Ches was a.former Ontario Hydro Lineman for 35 years. The Long family will receive visitors at the PAUL FUNERAL HOME, POWASSAN, on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. and on Wednesday, August 24, 2007 from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Legion Tribute Tuesday at 7 pm. Funeral service in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Interment Powassan Union Cemetery.
