A very loving and caring spouse and father passed away at Cassellholme on Saturday September 26th in his 91st year. The last surviving child of the late Isidore Levasseur and Louise Ernestine Cote of St Luc du Matane QC. Lovingly Remembered by Eileen, his wife of 45 years and by his children Treasa (Geoffrey) and Kelly, and by his grandchild Emma and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Leon was born in Matane and following the death of his mother at a young age he was raised in Manitoba by his loving foster mother Delia Pearson. After graduating from the University of Ottawa Leon was ordained in 1953 and spent 16 years pastoring in Northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan. He spent the remainder of his career in Winnipeg and North Bay as a passionate advocate for social housing.
A memorial service will be celebrated at St Peter the Apostle Church, 299 Airport Rd., North Bay on Saturday October 3rd at 10:30 am., followed by a luncheon in the church hall.
