Passed away at Cassellholme with her family at her side, Monday, March 24, 2008. Geraldine (née McParland) beloved wife of Clarence Leon Lefebvre in her 83rd. year. Dearly loved mother of Michael (Linda Marconi), Suzanne Beauchamp (Richard), David (Carole Champagne) all of North Bay, Carol Lefebvre ( Shelley Schenk) of Kitchener and Janet Atkinson (Stephen) of Lively. Loved grandmother of ten grandchildren, Jennifer and Natalie Beauchamp, Lauren and Matthew Lefebvre, Melissa, Julie, and Marc Lefebvre, Jessica, David and Jake Atkinson. Dear sister of Inez Kaufmann (Willi) of Abbotsford, B.C., Noleen Kasey (Ted) of Tampa, Florida, Clarence McParland (Barbara) of Sylvan Lake, Alberta and Helen Duquette (Don deceased) of North Bay She will be dearly remembered by 4 sisters-in-law, Irene McParland ( Clifford (deceased) of North Bay, Léa Lefebvre (Tom deceased) of Davidson, Que., and Yvonne Bilodeau (Noel) of Gatineau, Que.,Sylvia Lefebvre(Frank deceased). Geri will be lovingly remembered by several dear nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers, Clifford and Andrew McParland (Pauline deceased) and several young siblings. Geraldine was born in Mattawa, May 12,1925. She was employed with the National Registration office in Ottawa during the end of the World War II and also worked as a farmerette in summer months on a fruit farm in southern Ontario. She moved with her family to North Bay in 1945, and was employed with the United Cigar store on Main street for several years, then to Shoppers Drug Mart on Cassells Street for 18 years. August 1,1949 she married Clarence at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption. She was a member of the Pro Cathedral C. W. L. for over 60 years, and worked on the funeral team, making lunches and knitted hundreds of pairs of mittens over the years for the annual C.W.L. bazaar. A loving mother and grandmother who would never forgot a birthday. Family and friends may pay their respects at McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Wednesday, March 26th from 2 to 4 and 7 o 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Pro- Cathedral of the Assumption, Thursday (time to be confirmed). Cremation to follow. Interment of cremated remains at St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimers Society or the Pro Cathedral Building Fund would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
