LeBlanc, Joseph Philippe Ulysse "Leo/Joe"

Posted

Well, the snow blower is put away and the Hobby Shop is closed up tight. Leo fought a valiant fight; he fought harder than we ever thought he'd fight; hoping to win. But sadly, on Wednesday January 29th, 2014, at the age of 80, he lost his battle. Leo passed away surrounded by family, his wife of 57 years, Beverly, his daughter Jill, and his 72 year old "Baby" brother Azade. A veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces / Army, he proudly served for a distinguished 32 years and after retiring he served an additional nine years as a Public Servant at CFB North Bay. Leo lived a fulfilling life and was loved by many; a personable, polite, and selfless man who rarely asked for anything in return. He was happiest when he was tinkering in his Hobby Shop or spending time with his grandkids. Every winter you would see him outside for countless of hours, covered in snow, plowing all his neighbors driveways. He was always there to help when needed. Leo is survived by his wife Beverly, daughter Jill, Son-in-law Mike, Grandkids Justin and Jordan, Sister Mathilda, and Brother Azade. The entire family would like to thank Dr Leckie, as well as all the Dr's, RN's, RPN's, PSW's, PT, and Student Nurses (Nipissing and Canadore) at the Sudbury Cancer Center and the North Bay Regional Health Center who provided exceptional compassionate care and support to both Leo and family. For those wishing to make a donation in Leo's memory, please consider the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral  arrangements entrusted to HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES. Online condolences can be made at www.hillsidefuneral.ca
