James Warren Lawrence (85 years old) passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023, with his loving family by his side at Nipissing Manor, Corbeil, ON.

Born November 22, 1937, to Thelma and Stanley Lawrence in Kirkland Lake, ON, Jim or Jimmy lived a wonderful young life in Thornbury, ON with his siblings Onley, Stanley and Terry, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends nearby.

Employment with Ontario Hydro brought him to Thessalon, ON where he met and married the late Donelda Dorothy MacKay. Jim & Donelda had two children Susan DesRoches (Tim) & Jim Jr.(Sherri) who were his forever pride and joy.  Jim was a proud and encouraging “Grampie” to Jim Jr.’s children Maddison & Tristan, loving them greater than he could ever imagined possible.

Dad had an enormous heart and was generous and loyal.

He was full to the brim with knowledge and skills gained through all of his life experiences: Forrester for Ontario Hydro, Owner of Ontario Utility Arborists North Bay and Guru of all things! His love of fishing at Harper’s Marina, Callander, dad could fix anything.

He will be dearly missed by his only surviving brother Terry Lawrence (Karen), sister-in-law Sharon MacKay Brisson (late Gorman), nephews Scott Lawrence (Jennifer), Matthew Lawrence, nieces Stacey Lewis (Dave), Kimberly Rickertsen (Mike), along with many great nieces & nephews.

Thank you to all the staff at Nipissing Manor whose kind hearts and skilled talents allowed our dad’s last year be filled with dignity, love, and grace. You all have made us believe in Earth Angels.

In lieu of flowers and should you feel so inclined, you are welcome to contribute to a Charity of your choice. In typical Dad fashion, he did not want any fuss made over him.  In honour of our father, a private Celebration of Life will be held at later date.

Dad, go now in peace with mom at your side. With the Lighthouse to reassure us of your guiding presence and forever love, we will keep you both always in our hearts and memories as we enjoy and feel your presence in every Callander Bay sunrise and sunset.❤️✨
