1930 - 2006 Peacefully passed away at the North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site, Sunday, June 18, 2006 after a valiant battle at the age of 76. Alfred was the beloved of the late Carmen (Larose) for 18 years and dearly loved husband of Rachel Séguin - Lauzon (née Arcand) married on February 26, 1988. Cherished father of Louise Deschênes (Daniel) and loving step father of Lucie Séguin, Raymond Séguin (Nedine) and Daniel Séguin (Roberta). Dear grand'papa of Élina and Luc Séguin.Alfred was the son of the late Patrick Lauzon and Marie-Louise Cousineau. He was predeceased by his brother Roland and infant sister Cécile. Alfred was a devoted school principal for more than 30 years mostly in Wawa, Capreol and Hanmer.After retiring from principalship Alfred was a Supervisor for the teachers at École des Sciences for 5 years. He was also honoured as past president for retired teachers of ERO. Alfred was a gentleman, humble, kind and generous, loved by everyone. He had a heart of gold. He was a book of knowledge and loved to travel. Alfred was involved in his Church, Paroisse des Saints-Anges and was a member of the Knights of Columbus council 12101. Père François Blais l'Assemblée Sire Émile Constantin. Very devoted, he participated in many committees and was an active member of the Community of the Sichem in Sudbury. He was also the Nipissing District Pastoral Chairperson appointed by the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie.



Family and friends may pay their respects at MCGUINTY FUNERAL HOME this evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. and Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral mass to be celebrated at Paroisse des Saints-Anges on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Expressions of sympathy and donations to Paroisse des Saints-Anges with note For Fransciscan Ministries of Allegany (to help Sister Grace Yap of Jamaca in her work with the poor) would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
