LAPORTE, Noella

Posted

Noella Laporte, 82, of North Bay, ON died November 14, 2015 at University Hospital London, ON after a lengthy battle of liver and other health issues. She was born to the late Eva and Oliver Vachon, December 25, 1933, in Chiswick, ON. Noella was a lifelong employee of St. Joseph Hospital. She married the late Joseph Laporte in 1953. She had a daughter, the late Joanne Laporte and is survived by her sons, Mark and his wife, Debbie Reynolds, and Luke. She also has two grandchildren, John of Kelona, B.C. and Matt of Vernon, B.C., and their mother Katie Laporte. A recognition is also sent to Jocelyn Bedard, Maddy Marleau, and Connie Allison. Noella touched many a person during her life and she will be certainly missed by her large family on the Laporte side and on the Vachon side. She was family first and enjoyed her friends especially. So many not mentioned, but so well remembered. Noella insisted she did not want any kind of service, so we will be observing her wishes. We will be burying her Wednesday, November 25 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery (North Bay Roman Catholic Cemetery), off of Golf Course Road. An unofficial luncheon will be held afterwards at St. Peter's Church at noon for friends and family wishing to attend. Just know, she is now pain-free, for which we are grateful. What a mom, what a lady. Instead of flowers, a donation to the Liver or Diabetic Society would be nice.
