LAMOTHE, Raymond Lomer

Posted

Passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014, at the age of 63.  Beloved son of the late Theresa and Lomer Lamothe, he is survived by four siblings, Donald (Suzanne) of Sudbury, Suzanne (Bob Curtis) of Ottawa, Gerry (Linda) of Callander, and Pauline (Gaëtan Levac) of Jocko Point.  Proud uncle of Jacques (Jenn), Jasmine (Robby Thornton), Kara (Ian Taylor), Sean (Leslie Vossler), and Jennifer (Thomas Brown); great uncle of Adrien, Loïc, Thierry, Brièle, Danielle, and Emily.  As per his wishes, cremation has taken place.

Born on October 16, 1950, Raymond spent his formative years in North Bay.  He learned auto body repair working for his father and uncle at Issy’s Autobody, and he continued in the trade for the balance of his career.  He worked in Edmonton for several years, and then settled in Barrie.  He was a loving son, brother, and uncle, and will be sadly missed.

Family will receive friends at the McGuinty Funeral Home on Saturday, March 1st, from
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a memorial luncheon in celebration of his life.  Ray had a big heart and was always helping someone in need, so in lieu of flowers, any kind deed done in his memory would be gratefully appreciated.  Many thanks to the caring staff of the Cardiac Care Unit at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie.
