At the Mattawa General Hospital on Saturday April 12, 2008 in his 87th year. Dear husband of the late Geraldine Lacelle. Sadly missed by his companion Carmen “Zoune“ Backer. Loving father of Jack (Colleen) and Patsy Backer (Bill) all of Mattawa. Sadly missed by grandchildren Aaron (Colleen) Backer, Claudine (Denis) Janveaux, Cathy (Yvon) Leclair, Darin (Cathy) Lamothe and Trevor Lamothe and 9 great grandchildren. Survived by his brother Leo. Predeceased by his brother Vic and sisters Ella, Hilda and Mae. Puddy was veteran of WWII and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 254. He started Vets Taxi in 1948 and operated it until his retirement in 1990. Friends may call at the MARTYN & SLOAN 'MATTAWA CHAPEL' on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne's Church on Tuesday at 11 am. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium. Puddy's ashes will be buried with his wife Geraldine at a later date.
