It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lindsay Anne Lamarche at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on December 27, 2023.

Lindsay will be lovingly remembered by her husband Pierre J Lamy, her beautiful daughters Sage and Emma, her mother Nancy Lamarche, her brother Bill (Amy), her sister Lianne, as well as her nephews Kaleb and Greyson. Lindsay will be also missed by her in-laws Pierre and Heather Lamy, her brother-in-law Robert (Robyn) and their children Willow, Hailey, Nick, Addison and Aubrey as well as many extended family members, colleagues, students and friends.

Lindsay was predeceased by her father Conrad Lamarche, her grandparents Barbara and Bill White, Yvette and Roland Lamarche and great-grandmother Aletha Davies.

Lindsay was born on March 14, 1980 in North Bay, Ontario where she spent her childhood and university years. She was schooled entirely in French due to her Dad’s heritage and became fluently bilingual, bringing her parents great pride! She was a great baseball player as a teen and also played clarinet and flute in her school band. She achieved her BA degree at Nipissing University followed by her Bachelor of Education in 2003. Lindsay went on to become the most patient, kind, caring and soft-spoken teacher in Woodstock, Barrie and Innisfil before settling with PJ in Kirkland Lake.

They welcomed Sage into their family in 2010 and Emma in 2015. Her love for her daughters was paramount in her life; they were her proudest accomplishments. Her second love was travel. She was happiest on a beach with a book in her hand.

Lindsay best described herself on her social media page: “Just a homegrown nerd/geek girl from the North! My children and my students are my world.” She was active as a Pathfinder and Girl Guides leader in her spare time, she adored her job at Central Public School and remained there for 17 years! She especially enjoyed school plays and extracurriculars. Her enjoyment and enthusiasm for education made learning enjoyable, which made Madame Lindsay a favorite teacher of many.

As per Lindsay's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at the Rorab Shrine Club (1260 Brooks Street, North Bay) between 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be dropped off at Martyn Funeral Home (cheques only, addressed to Salvation Army or Diabetes Canada).

"Those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever."
