Surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 in his 70th year at North Bay General Hospital. Archie Lagassie was the beloved husband of Merle of Callander. He was the loving father of Richard (Ruth) of Powassan, Mary Lyn (Mark Howard) of Corbeil, Dennis (Joan) of Powassan, Wayne (Vicki) of Callander, Deanne (Vaughn McDonald) of St. Catharines, Naomi (Robert Spurgeon) of Burlington, proud grandfather of Chantelle (Jason), Cassandra, Charles (Jasmine), Damien, Candace, Natasha (Nolan), Joseph, Shawna, Kerrilyn, Jason, Devin, Ryley, Gillian, Sasha, Abbey and great-grandfather of Jamie, Bobby and Zoe. The family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home in Powassan (705-724-2024) on Saturday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be conducted in the funeral chapel on Sunday at 2 pm. Cremation to follow. If desired, donations may be made in Archie's memory to the Canadian Parkinsons Foundation or the Diabetes Association.
