At North Bay General Hospital, Saturday, March 6, 2004. Omer Lafontaine beloved husband of Dolores Racicot in his 82nd year. Dearly loved father of Lorraine Chamberlain (Doug) and Jeannine Savage (Maurice). Lovingly remembered by six grandchildren, Sean Chamberlain (friend Courtney), Jennifer Hubley (Brad), Denis, Daniel, Roger and José Savage and four great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Bradley Hubley and Sera and Kristen Savage. Dear brother of Marie Bissonnette (deceased Antoine), Bernadette Desgagné (deceased Leo), Therese Andrysiak, Rita Stone (deceased Ivan), Sr. Marie Claire Lafontaine S.S.C.M., and sister-in-law Marie Connor-Ryan (deceased Cecil) and Sr. Celina Racicot F.D.L.S. Predeceased by his parents Florina and John Lafontaine, brother Ted, and sister Jeanne D'Arc Nowry (deceased Milton), sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Beaudry (deceased Roger) and Eleonor Petric (deceased John). Omer served in the Canadian Air force during World War II for 5 1/2 years with 2 1/2 years being served overseas. He retired from John's Manville Plant and enjoyed his fishing, following sports and most of all spending time with his family. Family receiving friends at the McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, today from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Paroisse Saints-Anges, 232 Maplewood Avenue, Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the North Eastern Regional Cancer Research Centre or North Bay General Hospital Foundation would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
