KNIGHT, Donald

Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Center on April 24th, 2016, in his 87th year.  Don is predeceased by his wife Ruth (nee Reilly). Don was the son of the late Arnold Knight and Helena Gardener.  Don will be sadly missed by his children; Kathy Soule (John), Ken (Linda), Tim (Pat) and Elaine Pepin.  Cherished grandpa of Amanda, Jennifer (Greg), Debbie (Tim), George (Rosane), Kristina (Adrien), Kori (Jason), Ashley (Brandon), Jessica (Ron), Mathew (Alex) and his 6 great-grandchildren; Gordon, Robbie, Lexi, Madeleine, Oliver and Ivory.  Dear brother of Helen Clairmont (Paul-deceased) and Freda Hamilton (Noel). Don will also be fondly remembered by past sons-in-law, George Soule (Lydia), Dan Pepin and by his extended family and friends.  Don was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge # 25. Don was an electrician for the Ontario Northland Railway for more than 30 years. Following his retirement, Don became the chief taxi driver for grandchildren, the Pro-Cathedral CWL, Girl Guides of Canada and several neighbors and friends. The family will receive friends at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) Wednesday April 27, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9pm.  Funeral mass will take place at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption Thursday April 28th, 2016 at 10 am.  Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com.
