Cora Kirton passed away surrounded by family at Eastholme, Powassan on Monday, March 17, 2008 in her 96th year. She was predeceased by her husband Earl Kirton (1974). Cora was the beloved Mother of Kathryn Kirton (Dermot Power) of Powassan and the late Susan McKenney (1942-2006). She is survived by her son-in-law Ken McKenney of Callander and by her grandchildren Heather Stanley (Derrick) of Powassan, Tammy Weedmark (Jim) of Ottawa and great grandchildren Zach and Chase Renwick of Powassan and Alex and Michael Weedmark of Ottawa. Cora was the dear sister of Tom Whitehead (Lois), Reg Whitehead (Helen), Warren Whitehead (late Iris), Harry Whitehead (Wanda) and was predeceased by her siblings Jim Whitehead (Edith), Harold Whitehead (Hilda), Norman Whitehead (Ruby), Colin Whitehead (Christine), Susanna Whitehead, Richard Whitehead (Jessie) and by infants Elsie and Emily. The Kirton family will receive visitors at the PAUL FUNERAL HOME in Powassan, on Thursday, March 20, 2008 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm followed by the funeral service which will be conducted by Rev. Teresa Jones at 3:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. Spring interment Trout Creek Union Cemetery.
