Jerry Kervin, in his 70th year, peacefully at home in North Bay, Monday, April 28, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jerry was the beloved husband of Leona Kervin (nee Soucie), cherished father of Joanna, Michael (Margaret), Barbara Hebert (Ken) and Keith (Louise) and loved grandfather of Katlyn, Julia, Andre, Kelly, Scott, Lucy, Marc, John, Jason, Billy, Christian, Alexandra, Elliott, Peter, and Timothy. Jerry became the adopted son of Leo and Mable Kervin (both deceased) following the death of his mother Ethel Burns (George). He is survived by his step-mother Sarah Burns (George, deceased) of Powassan and brother to Leo Burns (Lou), Doreen Burns (John Bourchier), Ken Burns (Joan, deceased), William Burns (deceased) (Joan), Irma Worms (Clarence, deceased), Patrick Beaudry (Claire), Harvey Reid (Rita), Shirley McRae (Lee), Elaine Setchell (Gordon, deceased), Carol Anne Burns (Ronald Jacobs), Rodney Burns (Ginette), Raymond Burns (deceased), John Burns (Candy), Stephen Burns (Diane), Paul Burns. Jerry recently retired from Royal LePage in North Bay after enjoying a varied career in real estate spanning 43 years. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Brian Shaw and to the nurses and staff of Paramed for their excellent care. We would also like to thank the many who offered prayers over the course of Jerry's illness. Family receiving friends at the McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption, Friday at 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
