Passed away at North Bay General Hospital Scollard Site, Sunday October 15, 2006, at the age of 86. Richard was the beloved husband of the late Rita (née Taillefer) and dear son of the late Valentine (née Picotte) and Richard T. Keenan. Dear brother of Gerard (Claire) of Ancaster, Marie Gignac (late Phil) of Owen Sound, Stella Keenan-McPeake (late James) of Owen Sound. He will be dearly remembered by his in-laws especially Jacqueline Taillefer, Madeline and Bill Eisen, Theresa and Stan McParland, nieces and nephews, Celia, Jacqueline Svensson, Katherine and Yves Filiatrault, Stephanie and Justin Rokos, Andrew and Natalie Filiatrault, Marlene and Mike Perreault, Sharon and Bob Robertston, Karen and Scott Murray, Colleen and Tom Parker, Dorothy McParland-Brazeau. Predeceased by his in-laws Rene, Mac, Annette and Pauline (late Andy McParland), his sister Theresa (Willard) Hallman, Rose Mitchell (late Michelik) and Pauline and Andy McParland.



Richard served in the Canadian Artillery both in Italy and Europe from 1940 to 1945. After the war, he followed his love of music by studying voice culture under the eminent Ceasar Borré. He was an organist and master of St. Michael's Choir in Toronto in the 1950s. Richard was also an organist at Paroisse des Sts-Anges for several years. He also occupied a supervisory position with the Department of Highway in the North Bay Region followed by a career in property appraisal with Kleimaker and Bruse.



Family and friends may pay their respects at MCGUINTY FUNERAL HOME Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 . A funeral mass will be celebrated at Paroisse des Saints-Anges Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment of cremated remains at St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. As expressions of sympathy donations to the V.O.N. or charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
