JOHNSON, Derek Gordon

It is with broken hearts the family announces the unexpected death of Derek at his home in Ottawa on Thursday July 9th 2015 at the age of 48 years. Derek was the proud and loving father of Alexa Johnson and Jacob Johnson and he will be sadly missed by their mother Valerie. He is survived by his beloved parents Gordon and Evelyn (nee Sandziuk), his brother Martin Johnson, baba Mary Sandziuk and uncle Bill Sandziuk. Derek was predeceased by his only sister Laura Johnson Eide and his uncle Adrian Sandziuk. Derek will always be lovingly remembered by his niece, nephew, cousins, friends and his many nursing colleagues with whom he worked. The family will be receiving visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (591 Cassells Street, North Bay) on Wednesday July 15, 2015 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral Service will be conducted in the McGuinty Funeral Chapel on Thursday at 11 am.
