Funeral Mass for the late Jim Gallardi was celebrated by Reverend Angelo Oliverio at St. Rita's Church, Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 11 a.m. Cremation at Forest Lawn Crematorium, North Bay. Mr. Gallardi, beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Roche), passed away at Cassellholme Home for the Aged, North Bay, Saturday, May 22, 2004 in his 97th year. He was the loving father of Peter (Patricia) of North Bay, Guy (Sharon) of North Bay, Andy of Ottawa, Barbara Unger (Don) of North Bay, Helen Lambert (Garrett) of British Columbia, Alison Gallardi of Toronto. Lovingly remembered by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Orlando Gallardi (Lundy) of North Bay, Helen Glionna of Toronto and Margarite Giardine of Timmins. Predeceased by his parents, Rose (nee Amendola) and August Gallardi, brother, Louis and sisters, Mary Luxton (Clifford deceased) and Edith Clark (Hector deceased). Jim was born August 11, 1907 at Depot Harbour. He was employed by Ontario Northland for 50 years and retired as paymaster. He was active in community affairs; past chairman of Cancer Society, member of Community Concert Association, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and a founding member of Davedi Club. He loved music, having played in various bands including Eighth Field Squadron Military Band. Jim was also a developer of the Graniteville subdivision. Pallbearers were James Unger, Danny Unger, Ken Luxton, John Luxton, Greg Gallardi and Stuart Gallardi. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME.
