After a brief illness at the Mattawa Hospital on Tuesday January 4, 2011 at 66 years of age. Husband and best friend of Brenda. Loving father of Marie (Al), Daniel (Tiana), Denis, Lyse and Joanne (Darin) and grandfather of Katie, Shelby, Rylee, Nicholas, Avery, Cody and Ben. Sadly missed by his mother Gabrielle Côté, brothers Gilles (Denise), Réjean, Richard (Carole-Anne) and Robert (Diane) and sister Roseline (Brian). Predeceased by his father Roland Côté. Jean Guy took pride in his work as a local barber in Mattawa for over 48 years. He was an avid outdoorsman spending as much time as he could enjoying nature. Many of his family and friends also knew him as a musician and a dedicated family man. Friends may call at the Martyn & Sloan ‘Mattawa Chapel’ on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Monday at St. Anne’s Church. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium. If desired donations to St. Anne’s Church, The Mattawa Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy (cheques only please).
