Jim died suddenly at his home in Marten River, on Monday January 24, 2011, at the age of 69 years. For the past 48 years he has been the devoted and loving husband of Sheila (nee Belanger). The proud and loving father of Jim (Jill) of Thornton, and Kenny (Diane) of Temagami, he will also be
lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Anthony, Colin, Erin and Jacob. He will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters Rose McDonald, Carol Guerette, Sharon Nantais, Gary, Shelly Bell, Steve, Bonnie Daley, Terry, Allan & Lori Cook and his many nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters in law. A welder by profession, Jim and Sheila moved their family from Petrolia to Temagami in 1975. For the next thirteen years they owned and operated Temagami Boat Livery, expanding the business to include not only outpost cabins and a marina, but also small engine and boat and motor repairs. Jim was a gifted mechanic and welder and will be remembered by many for his ability to fix just about anything. After selling the business he and Sheila owned Sherman Mine Apartments in Temagami prior to retiring to Marten River. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held in Temagami in the spring. If desired, donations in Jim’s memory to the Lung Association will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements
entrusted to Martyn Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered at www.martynfh.com.
