HUMPHREY, William Anthony “Bill” passed away peacefully at Eastholme in Powassan on Monday July 30, 2012. He was in his 89th year. Bill was the beloved Husband of almost 60 years to Mary Anne Humphrey (nee Kelly) of Powassan until her death in July of 2011. Father to Heather (Bill Card) of Thunder Bay, Karen of Sudbury, Brian of Spirit River, Alberta, Doug (Ruby) of Huntsville, and Dean of La Ronge, Saskatchewan. He was the proud grandfather of Olivia Gauthier (Bobby) of Thunder Bay, Christa St. Louis (Ron) of White River, David Card (Mandy) of Thunder Bay, James, Grace, Moriah, Joel and Daniel Humphrey of Huntsville, and great-grandfather of Gibson, Liam, Olivia, Taryn and Beau St. Louis of White River and Madeleine, Gyven and Caid Gauthier and Heath Card all of Thunder Bay. Bill was predeceased by his son Neil (Feb. 2012) of Val Caron. Bill was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and an RAF Veteran of World War II. Bill had a long career and served with the Lands and Forests/MNR as a fire control boss/trainer. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Whispering Pines Funeral Home Ltd. (705) 724-9734 The family will receive friends at Whispering Pines Funeral Home 15 King Street East Powassan on Thursday August 2nd 2012 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Trout Creek Friday August 3rd at 11 am. Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be greatly appreciated by the family. (cheques only)
