After a long illness, Bob Hummel died peacefully at his home with his wife and children by his side. He was 76 years old.

Bob was the beloved husband of Linda (Levesque) of Commanda and the much-loved father of Clifford Hummel of North Bay and Melissa “Missy” Johnston (Chris) of Commanda and fur-grampa of Hope, Shiloh, Spot and Akira. He was the dear brother of John Hummel (Maxine), Betty Hughes (Garry), Barb Vester and Sheri Hummel (Dan), all of Powassan. Bob was predeceased by his parents Mary (Taylor) and Clifford Hummel and his brothers Bill (Arlene of Powassan) and Howard Hummel. Bob spent his formative years working on the family farm as well as working to support his family that he loved dearly.

He worked for many years as a grocer, first at Valu-Mart in Powassan and later at Food Basics in North Bay, where he was known for his friendly personality, hard work, and practical jokes. In his later years he was able to help start a farm of his own, caring for his cows, chickens, and goats. Bob’s love for the farm life was clear for all to see in each story he told about his animals.

The Hummel family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm and on Saturday, August 13 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
