HOWE, Beth

Posted

It was with heavy hearts that we said our goodbyes to Mom at Cassellholme on Monday afternoon, March 21st, 2011. Beth is survived by her daughter, Carolynn Chapman and her husband Ray and by her son, Murray and his wife Cathy. Beth was born in North Bay on April 27, 1920, the first of nine
children born to Percy and Violet White. She is also survived by her sister Dee McCarthy (Bob) and her brothers Bill (Barb), Reg (Ann), Cliff (Kathy) all of North Bay and her brother Jack (Shirl) now of Mississauga. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Herbert in 1982, her precious daughter Bonnie McIntosh in 2000, her brothers Murray and Tom and a sister Joyce Greenwood. She was extremely proud of her six loves -- her grandchildren, Rob (Kelly), Greg, Ryan and Amy McIntosh (Cory) and Tyler
(Amanda) and Kori Chapman. She was also blessed with two great grandsons, Seamus and Clay, who brought new joy to her life. She welcomed as well to her family Stephen (Nathalie), Matthew (Jen), and Christine Chapman and
their children Cortney, Joshua and Carver as well as a special family member Doris Stuart. Beth was warm and loving and the first to offer a helping hand and tender
care to those of us who needed a safe place to fall. She opened both her heart and home to care for many of us and we are so grateful for her care and guidance. She was an excellent seamstress and took much pride in the items she made either with her sewing machine, knitting needles or crochet hooks and these special things are keepsakes for many of us today. She found much pleasure and satisfaction while volunteering at Cassellholme for fifteen years. Beth and Herb’s home was the gathering place for the entire
family for both Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve Celebrations each year when their home would be filled to capacity and the young nieces and nephews would be so excited and proud when they were given the task of serving the treats to everyone. Family was her priority and family brought the most joy to her life. She was our role model for a life lived well and we are so grateful to have had her in our lives for so long. She will be missed each and every day and remembered with so much love. Visitation will be at the Martyn Funeral Home on Thursday, March 24th from 2 until 4 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. The funeral service will be celebrated by Rev. Jane Howe at St. Andrews Church on Friday, March 25th at 1:30 p.m. with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Donations to the charity of your choice will be greatly acknowledged by the family.
