In Loving memory of Gilbert Llewellyn Horton 87 years, May 29, 2007. Loving and wonderful husband of Elizabeth “Helen” (Nixon) Horton of North Bay. Proud father of Margaret Farquhar (Steve) David (Connie) of Burlington, Hugh of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Nancy (Denis) of Vermilion, Alberta. Beloved grandfather of Terry, Emyrs, Scott, Ryan, Jamie, Christopher, Andrew, Michael, Kate, Brad and Laurenne. Great grandfather of Lyndon, Liam, Perrin, Emery, Jaylen and Olivia. Dear brother of Margaret Allan (Jack) of Ottawa, both predeceased, niece Joan (John), Jackie (Toby) and Holly (Dave). Great Uncle to John, Robin, Evan, Bryn, Lori, Todd, Tani and Scott.

Born in Wales immigrated to Canada at age nine years. He worked as a Sales Representative all his life. Gil was a member of the Legion Branch # 76 in Sudbury and was also a member of the Masonic Temple in Sudbury. Gil loved his music, was a gifted saxophone and clarinet player. He played for many years in a band and was famous for his New Year's Eve performance in Saddlebag Lake, Florida where they spent their winters for many years.

Gil's other love was fishing which he did every opportunity he could. Gil will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Donations to the Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.

Visitation will be held at the Emmanuel United Church (395 Lakeshore Drive) today from 1:00 PM until the time for Funeral Service in the Sanctuary at 2:00 PM. Cremation with interment of Ashes in the Callander Union Cemetery.
