HORNER, Leta Edith

Passed away peacefully at Cassellholme, on Sunday, October 23, 2005. Leta Finnigan, was the beloved wife of the late Claude Harley Horner, she was 94 years old. Loving mother of Ralph and Frank "Kilvie" and his wife Fran, both of North Bay. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Lee Horner, Kilvie Horner and his wife Nancy, Chip Horner and his wife Martha, Claudia Horner, Brad Lobregt and his wife Bridgette, Kim Oakes and her husband John and by her great-grandchildren, Breanna, Gwilym, Jordan and Christen. She will be fondly remembered by her sister Sybil Beatty and by many nieces and nephews too great to mention. Predeceased by her siblings Ralph, Frank, Eddy, Adam "Pearly", Lillas and Jean. Leta had been an active and involved member of the St. Andrew's United Church and had been involved with North Bay Minor Hockey. She ran the Home and School Committee at the old McIntyre School for many years, then was employed with Bell Canada as a switchboard operator and then transferred to the North Bay Psychiatric Hospital to set-up and manage their communications network. Visitation will be held in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 28th at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at the Terrace Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Center will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
