Posted

In Loving Memory of Sarah Kathryn Horn: Kay passed away at Cassellholme peacefully on January 17, 2007. Kay was the beloved wife of the late Tom Horn. She was 84 years old. Predeceased by her sisters, Betty Henry, Marg Henry, Isobel Jackson and Joan Benson, by her brothers in law Vic Jackson and Paul Benson, her nephew Vic Jackson Jr and niece Kathy Jackson. Remembered by her sons Michael (wife Chris) of Calgary, Tom of Toronto and Daughter in heart Amanda by her grandchildren Jenelle and Jordan of Calgary and Kaelan of Toronto, her nephews Brad and Todd.

We celebrate a giving and caring soul who was defined by her love of people and her capacity to care. She will be remembered fondly at Roxboro United Church in Montreal through her work with youth in the 1960's including The Sixteens and Icthus. In the 70's while living in Zambia, Africa she embraced all cultures that her family encountered and drew them into our family culture. Whether it be visiting remote villages teaching nutrition to new Mothers, supporting Rotary, her church youth choir or as President of the Inner Wheel she found many ways to enrich and help all those she encountered. Later after losing her husband, Kay became active in providing palliative care to other families to give back for the support she had received.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Cassellholme for the loving care she often spoke of and her friends through the years. Her family is left enriched by her teaching and thankful for her presence.

A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews United Church on Tuesday January 23rd at 11 am. In lieu of flowers and if desired, donations to the Stephen Lewis Foundation (Kabwe Children's Centre) as expressions of sympathy would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME, North Bay.
