HEASMAN, Wm. Leslie “Les“

Long time North Bay resident Les Heasman died peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital on Sunday, September 17th, 2006 at the age of 87 years. Les will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 62 years, Helen (nee Mosher). The proud and loving father of Wayne and his wife Joanne of New Liskeard and Patti Cooley and her husband Conrad of North Bay. Les will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Kristin Heasman of North Bay, Scott Heasman of Fergus, and Kelly Sharp (Joel) of New Liskeard as well as their daughters Madyson and Jaime, and David Cooley (Karen) of North Bay as well as their children Alexis, Abby, Ben and Angie. He was predeceased by his grandson Jonathon Cooley and will be affectionately remembered by Jon's cherished companion Amy. Les will be fondly remembered by his brothers Austin (Winona) of Powassan, and Jim (Elaine) of Iron Bridge, and sisters Rosaline Miller-Skuce (Jim deceased) of Powassan, & Irene Bradley (Ireton deceased) of Powassan. He was predeceased by his brother John (Evelyn of Callander) and sister Inez.



Mr. Heasman was a long time well known and respected local businessman. He and Helen owned and operated Heasman TV Sales and Service for many years, retiring in 1982. An avid reader Les enjoyed technology magazines and the Reader's Digest. Documentaries were his favorite TV format. As well as enjoying country music he had an interest in astronomy and was a “computer wizard“. Being gifted with his hands he enjoyed carpentry and tailoring. Mr. Heasman was a World War II Army veteran.



Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Wednesday afternoon and evening from 2 -4 & 7 - 9 pm. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 pm on Thursday September 21st, 2006. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
