Gerald Hankinson died peacefully, surrounded by family, at North Bay Regional Health Centre on Thursday, February 2, 2012. He was in his 96th year. Gerry was predeceased by his first wife Clara Edna (Snodden) (1917- 1983) and is survived by his second wife Shirley (Armstrong-Hamilton) of Powassan. He was the beloved father of Dawn Morris of Brampton, Bill Hankinson (Rita) of Scarborough, Marlene Hankinson of Le Duc, Alberta and Suzanne Dusome (David) of St. Albert, Alberta; and step-father of Hal Hamilton (Suzie) of Restoule, Wayne Hamilton (Brenda) of Restoule, Everett Armstrong (Fay) of North Bay, Ron Hamilton (Rita) of Bonfield, Bruce Hamilton (Margaret) of Restoule, Marlene Limpright (Craig) of Coldwater and Myron Hamilton (Frances) of Orillia. Gerry was the dear brother of the late Maurice Hankinson (Grace of Whitby), Ruth Locke (the late Bill) of Strathroy, Rev. Lawrence Hankinson (Frances) of Lethbridge, Alberta, the late Lorne Hankinson (Elsie of Brantford), the late Jean King, Lois Kearns (the late Joe) of Chatham and Pat Duralia (John) of Windsor. Fondly remembered by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 1 to 2 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm all at the at the Corner Gospel Church, Restoule. Cremation will be followed by spring interment of ashes at Powassan Union Cemetery.
