On May 31st, 2004, at the age of 82, passed away suddenly but peacefully at his home in Thorne. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Carl had a lifelong dedication and loyalty to the veterans and members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 18, Temiscaming, Quebec. Predeceased by his wife, Trudy (nee Oxberry), brothers Olaf and Lawrence. Survived by his brother Clifford (Frances) in Oshawa and his sister Geraldine in Ottawa. Fondly remembered by his sons Garry and Vaughn in Thorne, Mark (Martine) in Ottawa and four grandchildren, David, Alan, Andrew and Trudy. Also, will be missed by his constant companions, Bijou and Lobo. At Carl's request, a public memorial service will be held at the Temiscaming Legion on Thursday, June 3rd, 2004 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 18, 210 Kipawa Road, Temiscaming, Quebec, J0Z 3R0, 819-627-9772.
