At North Bay General Hospital, Tuesday, March 25, 2008. Sister Jeanne was born in Capreol, Ontario on April 10, 1928. Predeceased by her mother, Marie Dubeau, her father, Henri Giroux and a brother, Claude. Lovingly remembered by four sisters and two brothers : Sr Irene (member of Les Soeurs du Sacré-Coeur), Chapleau, Rita, North Bay. Lorraine ( Soeur de l'Assomption de la Sainte Vierge), North Bay, Hélène (Richard Benot), Barrie, Ontario, Roland (Liliane, deceased), Warren, Ontario, Maurice (Annette) Sudbury. Sr Jeanne pronounced her vows in 1950. Throughout her career, she taught in Northern Ontario : Tri-Town, Iroquois Falls, Timmins and Kirkland Lake. She spent two years with the Ministry of Education, North Bay Regional Office until her election as member of the General Council of her Congregation in 1985. In 1990, she became Superior General until her retirement in 1995. Visitation at MCGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Thursday, March 27, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. funeral mass will be celebrated bY Mgr J-M Paiement, Friday, March 28 at 1:30 p.m. Mass offerings, donations to St-Vincent-de- Paul Parish or North Bay and District Hospital Foundation.
