GIROUX, Gérard (mon oncle Botte),
Peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of his family at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the age of 81 years. Gerard was the beloved husband of Nicole Thibault for 58 years and the loving father to Michelle Scott (Tom) and Gaetan Giroux (Sandy). He was the cherished grandfather to Adele, Jake, Emily (Scott), Robin, Justin, and Jason (Giroux). He was the brother to David (Claudette), Daniel (Rollande), Gabriel (late Rex), Réginald (late Donna), Louise (late Jules), Raymonde (Conrad), Jeannine (late Roger), and predeceased by André, Rhéal, Gérald (Vivianne), Michel, Julia (Julien), Marguerite (late Donat), Flora (late George), Marianne (late Edmond), Bernadette (late Victor), Rose (Henri), and Collette (Raymond). He is also predeceased by his parents John and Régina (née Bourque) Giroux.
The family will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Thursday, April 25, 2024, between the hours of 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish (Corbeil) on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 11:00 am. Interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be gratefully appreciated by his family.
