GILLIES (nee Burnett), Catherine Campbell “Cathie”

Passed away peacefully at Cassellholme, on Sunday, April 11, 2010. Cathie was the beloved wife of the late Robert McConnachie “Bob” Gillies, she was 78 years old. She was the loving mother of Bill and his wife Gloria and Robert Jr. both of North Bay, Ronald of Gravenhurst, Anne Sunstrum of Guelph, Elaine Gillies of Trenton, Alex and his wife Maria of Chelmsford and David and his wife Iris of Winnipeg. Cathie was predeceased by her daughter Charlene in 2004, by her parents William and Anne Burnett and by her brother Thomas. She will be lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dearly loved sister of Anne McMonegal of Neilston, Scotland. Cathie was always interested in her children and grandchildren and their activities. She enjoyed baking for family and friends, working in her garden and weekly coffee with the other retired ladies from Towers (Zellers). Her family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 7 – 9:00 P.M. and on Thursday (April 15th) from 10 am until time for a Funeral Service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am. Cremation with interment of ashes in the family plot in the Forest Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Arthritis Society will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
