GIESLER, Elizabeth “Betty“ Alice (nee. Kunkel)

After a long battle with cancer Betty Giesler died peacefully on Monday, January 1, 2007 at her Powassan home with family by her side. She was in her 71st year. Betty (Kunkel) was the beloved wife of Peter F. Giesler of Powassan, and the loving mother of Gerry (Linda) of Powassan, Judy Smyth (Scott) of Ottawa, Greg (Cindy) of Verner, Jane (Brian Anderson) of North Bay, Geof (Tracy) of Powassan and Sue (Paul Oshell) of Powassan. She was the proud grandmother of Daryl, Erica, Matthew, Amanda, John, Christina, Stephanie, Sable, Victoria, Nicole, Robin & great-grandson Edward. Betty was the dear sister of the late Henrietta Humphrey, the late Helen Aultman, Theresa Aultman of Powassan, Gerard Kunkel of Powassan, Lawrence Kunkel of Powassan, the late Vincent Kunkel, Bernadette Harrington, Eugene, Stephen and Ed Kunkel all of Powassan.

The Giesler family will receive visitors at the PAUL FUNERAL HOME in Powassan on Thursday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm with Prayers at 8:45 pm. The funeral service will be held in St. Joseph's Church on Friday at 11 am. Spring interment Powassan Union Cemetery.
