Peacefully with her family at her home in North Bay on Wednesday February 27th, 2008 at the age of 73 years. Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late James Douglas Giddens. The proud and loving mother of Jamie and his son Tanner, Paul and his wife Angela and their son Liam, & Mark and his wife Charlotte, all of North Bay, & Greg and his wife Laura and their son Adam of Thunder Bay, she was also predeceased by her son David. She will also be sadly missed by her brother Bill Haufschild of Winnipeg. Born in Arnstein Eleanor was the daughter of the late Ernest & Anita Haufschild. A nurse by profession she will be remembered by many for the care she gave while working at the former North Bay Psychiatric and St. Joseph's Hospitals and at Leisure World Care Giving Center. She was a long time dedicated member of the North Bay Horticultural Society. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. No funeral services will be held. Interment of her ashes will take place in the family plot in Forest Lawn Cemetery. If desired donations to the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, or the Northern Cancer Research Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
