Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on March 8, 2011 at the age of 78. Georgina was surrounded by loved ones in the final hours of her brave battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Joseph Meilleur and Pamela Romain, and was predeceased by five sisters and a brother. She is survived by three daughters, Joanne (Claude Deziel) of Shawinigan, QC, Linda (Guy Parmentier) of Trois-Rivieres, QC, and Julia (David Atkins) of North Bay. She is also survived by six grandchildren, David, Karine, Kathleen, Vanessa, Mathew and Marleigh, a great-granchild, Maïna, a brother, Jerome "Sonny" Meilleur (Joan) of Deep River, and many nieces and nephews. Georgina will be greatly missed by her best friend and loyal companion, Gerald Cheaney, and Gerald's children Rob, Krystal and Terry. A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of this warm, spirited and fun-loving woman will take place Saturday, March 19 at Martyn Funeral Home at 1 pm.
