GAVAN, Reta

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Reta Gavan on Monday, August 13, 2007, at the age of 85. Devoted and loving wife of the late Patrick Gavan. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Peter and Barbara. Wonderful, devoted and caring grandmother to Bradley and his wife Brianne. Dear sister-in-law to Audrey Pinkney and Mary Gavan and brother-in-law George Sluman. Predeceased by her parents, Ada and Alfred Pinkney, brothers Raymond and Gordon and sisters Doreen Sluman and Hazel Carvell. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and her many special friends she had made over the years. Her last few months were spent at Empire Living where she just loved the caring people and new friends she made and also missed her wonderful friends at Corpus Christi apartments. Reta was involved in her younger years with the Elks Club, the Order of the Royal Purple and C.W.C.L.



Family receiving friends at the McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church Friday at.10:30 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Kidney Foundation or the VON would be appreciated by the family. Peter, Barb, Brad and Brianne will miss you and you will never be out of our thoughts and prayers.
