Passed away peacefully at North Bay General Hospital on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at the age of 79. Loving father of Peggy Gauvreau of Burlington and Danny (Dan) Gauvreau, wife Lorraine and grand-daughters Jordann and Brooke of North Bay. Predeceased by his parents Lorenzo Gauvreau and Argentine Landry of Bonfield, brothers Wilfrid and Oscar and a sister Dolores. Survived by his sisters Violette Mantha, Rita Boyer, Beth (AL) Mason, Gilberte Gagné, Reina Bourdeau and Annette Boudier. Brother of Bill, Ben (Lena), Al (Helen) Ray and Vic Gauvreau.
Joe was a retired brakeman for the Canadian National Railway (CNR) for 35 years. He enjoyed music, playing cards and cooking for the love of his family. Family and friends may pay their respects at MCGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Paroisse Ste-Bernadette in Bonfield, Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Bonfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be offered to Ste- Bernadette Renovation Foundation.
