Funeral mass for the late Roy Ettles

The Funeral Mass for the late deacon Roy Ettles was celebrated at St. Alphonsus Church in Callander, on October 14, 2005. The celebrant and homilist was Father J. McKay, with Msgr. N. Clement and Father T. Scarfone concelebrating the Mass. Reverend Mr. R. Delguidice, Reverend Mr. D. Laframboise and Reverend Mr. C. Way assisted. The thurfer was acolyte Noel Bissonnette, cross and candle bearers were Mr. L. Carriere, Mr. T. Beauchamp and Mr. R. Seguin. Also vested were deacons from the North Bay Region of the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie, the Diocese of Ottawa and the Diocese of Winnipeg. Members of the Diocesan Order of Women, acolytes and permanent readers were also present. The lectors were Teri Lynn Christie and Jayne Harvey; Robin Bonkowski read the offeratory petitions. The pallbearers were David Kervin, Michael Ettles, James Christie, Bill Chirico, Gerry Kraemer and Mac Allen. Roy is survived by his wife Kathleen, his son Stephen (Loma) and his daughter Shelley (Dan) Ricker and his two grandsons, Nathan and Joel Ricker. He will be sadly missed by his brothers Hugh Ettles (Susan deceased) and Robin Ettles (Mardie), and his cousin Christopher Ettles (Gabriel). He will also be missed by his brothers-in-law Thomas Kervin (Elaine), Richard Kervin (Elaine) and Donald Kervin (Erna), and his many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Roy was predeceased by his parents Ian and Kathleen Ettles his brothers Colin and Alan Ettles (June) and a nephew Mark Ettles. Interment was at the Callander Union Cemetery.
