Rob French died peacefully, surrounded by family, at his Powassan home on Thursday, September 27, 2012, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was in his 73rd year. Rob was the beloved husband of Marion (nee Buckley) of Powassan; Father of Stephen (Annette), Debbie (Doug Lindquist) and Darcy (Vicky) all of Powassan; Grandfather of Melissa, Dustin, Sammy, Eddie, Derek, Alina, Zak, Eric, Logan, and Great-grandfather of Tyler Nelson. Rob was the dear brother of John French (Susan) of Millbrook and the late Neil French. He was the much loved son-in-law of Betty and Charlie Bennison of North Bay and the late Bob Buckley; and brother-in-law of Bill and Sandi Buckley of Gravenhurst, Rick and Deb Buckley of Nipissing, Cathy and Russ Ratz of Powassan and Barb and Oscar Giroux of Astorville. Rob was a well known farmer in the Powassan area and member of both the Powassan Agricultural Society and Farmer’s Market. The French family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Powassan United Church on Monday, October 1 at 11:00 am. Cremation will be followed by interment at Boxwell Cemetery, Chisholm.
