After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Doug Frederick of Powassan died Thursday, October 23, 2008 at North Bay General Hospital. He was in his 77th year. Doug was the beloved husband of Eileen “Toots” (nee Paul) Frederick of Powassan. He was the much loved father of Mona Presley (Will) of Nipissing, Bev Young (Tony) of Powassan and Steven Frederick (Kimberly) of Chisholm and proud grandfather of Christopher (Jennifer), Kerry (Gary), Colin, Rylan, Megan and Matthew and great-grandpa “Dougie” of Hannah. Doug is survived by his sister Florence Phillips (James King) of Azilda; his brother Mervyn Frederick (Bonnie) of North Bay; and his sisters-in-law Grace Frederick of Powassan, Loretta Frederick of North Bay and Monica Frederick of Bracebridge. Doug was predeceased by his brothers Ron, Art and Gordon Frederick and by his sisters Edna Leggett (late Fred), Ida Frederick, Irene Higgins (late Glen) and Margaret Courchesne (late Carl). He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. The Frederick family will receive visitors at the PAUL FUNERAL HOME, Powassan on Sunday, October 26 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home Chapel.
