1916-2006 - Passed away peacefully of natural causes at the North Bay General Hospital - McLaren Site on Wednesday May 10, 2006. Devoted husband of Olive May Collins, predeceased 1992. Dearly loved father of Barbara (Steve) Kitzul of North Bay, Brenda (Peter) Kellett of Trenton, Brian (Martha) Fraser of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Linda (Roy) Banister of Stittsville; grandfather of Scott (Ronnie) Kitzul, Angela (Darwin) Neault, Christopher Kellett, Katy, Anne & Paul Fraser, Kevin & Karen Banister; great-grandfather of Brandon & Matthew Neault, and Simon Mahaffy-Kellett; dear friend of Lorelei Jones. Predeceased by parents Annie Rees and Allen Fraser, and brother Robert Fraser. Rees was a lifelong resident of North Bay and worked 46 years at Rahn Metals, retiring in 1979. A member of St. John's parish since 1940, he was a devoted member of the Choir. For the past six years he was a cherished resident of The Empire Living Centre where all enjoyed his card playing, piano performance and cheerful companionship. Rees instilled in his children a very good sense of family values while exhibiting a casual nature. He wrote a diary starting in 1929 which has been a valuable source of family information and genealogical fact over the years.



Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. Friends may call at MARTYN FUNEARL HOME (across from City Hall) today from 10-12 p.m. Family will receive friends at St. John's Anglican church from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. A reception will follow at the Empire Living Centre. Donations to St. John The Divine or the charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated. Cremation with interment of ashes at St. John's Cemetery at a later date.
