Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Thursday April 3, 2014, in her 100th year.  She was predeceased by her husband Roy.  She lived a long and interesting life as an artist, social activist and gardener.  Jess has lived in a log house in the Nass Valley in Northern B.C. and in her later years an old bank they converted into a pottery studio in Hunter River, P.E.I.  She has lived in North Bay close to her son and daughter-in-law the last 13 years.  She is survived by her children Marjorie Spisak of Terrace, B.C. and Douglas (Sandra) Franks of North Bay and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Jessie was predeceased by her son Herb and her daughter Lenore Thomson. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. No visitation or services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Martyn Funeral Home, www.martynfh.com.
