Passed away and into the arms of his Lord on April 5, 2011, at Eastholme Home for the Aged in Powassan, in his 103rd year. Survived by his cousin Hilda Elsworth (England) and by Melanie, granddaughter of his late wife Blanche. Predeceased by his mother and father in 1954 and 1957, by his brother Alvin in 1987. Frank was born in 1908 and grew up in Barnoldswick England. He emigrated to Canada with his parents and brother Alvin in 1920. After initially working in Toronto, Western Canada, Welland and Hamilton, his family moved to and established a family farm in the Feronia/Redbridge area. After his parents died, he and his brother Alvin successfully operated the family farm for many years. In later years, Frank retired to North Bay, where he met his first wife, Blanche Gray, and they enjoyed their life together until her death. Thereafter, Frank met and married Bertha McGruthers. After she passed away, Frank moved to Barclay House, where he regularly participated in card games and other activites, and celebrated his 100th birthday in 2008 with great fanfare. He then moved to Eastholme Home for the Aged in Powassan for the remainder of his days. For many years, Frank regularly attended Bethel Gospel Chapel, and particularly enjoyed the monthly retirees’ luncheons.
