FITZGERALD, George Gerald “Gerry“

(1928-2007). passed away peacefully Friday March 23rd at Laurentian Hospital, Sudbury after a brief illness. Predeceased by his beloved wife Jean (Studholme), his parents Jack (J.G.) and Norma Fitzgerald, sisters Geraldine Fitzgerald, Mary Loach and brother Terry; also brother-in-laws Garry Eckensviller and Frank Young. Gerry is survived by his step-daughter Scarlett Cuthbertson (Dick) and grandson Chris (friend Natalie). Dear brother of Elizabeth Eckensviller of New Liskeard, Marg Young of Newmarket, William (Lucy) of Cobalt, John (Gail) of Corbeil, Ted (Gert) of Sylvan Lake AB, Rosemary Plantinga (Peter) of Scarborough, Averil Corby (Gerry), of Sudbury. Brother-in-law to Ron Loach of Kirkland Lake and Maureen Fitzgerald of Callander. Gerry will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews of several generations. Until his retirement in 1993, Gerry was employed as a partner in J.G. Fitzgerald & Sons Roofing Co. Ltd. Currently he has been employed as owner/operator of G.F.R. Distributing and Blue Sky Fund Raising Services. He was actively involved in the A.C.T., was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, an Extra-ordinary lay minister of the Eucharist at Corpus Christi Church, North Bay, St. Bernadette's, Bonfield and the North Bay General Hospital. Gerry enjoyed curling, fishing, farming, family and a good party.

Please join the family at Corpus Christi Church, North Bay on Wed Mar. 28th at 10 a.m. to celebrate Gerry's life with a Memorial Mass. Private internment.
