Passed away at North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site, Sunday, January 18th, 2004, at the age of 83 years. Julie Ferris (née Hill), was the beloved wife of the late Lloyd Ferris, and the loved mother of Lynne Ferris of North Bay, Peter (Ingrid) of Fort Frances, Christopher of North Bay and Patrick (Mireillle) of Ottawa. Julie will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Chantal, Peter. Jonathan, Jason, Stephanie and Matthew, and her great-grandchildren: Olivia, Brianna, Tyler, Erica and Trystan. She will also be remembered by a special step-grandson, Braeden. Julie was the dear sister of Marshall Hill of Black's Harbour, Margaret Hill of Toronto and Alice Tait of Florida. Predeceased by two daughters, Stephanie (May 25, 1985) and Patricia Ann (January 15, 1945), her parents, Effie and John Hill, two brothers, Jack and Joe, and a sister Cecilia. Mrs. Ferris served as an air traffic controller with the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII. She was stationed at London and Centralia, Ontario and Summerside, Prince Edward Island. She was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23. Julie had many interests, some of which included travelling, gardening, fishing, time at the cottage, and a love of animals. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the piano. Christmas was in particular a special occasion for Julie to spend with her family. Visitation at McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME will be this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.p.m. There will be a Royal Canadian Legion service Wednesday at 3 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church, Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment at Ste. Mary's Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Canadian Lung Association or North Eastern Ontario Cancer Research would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
