A longtime resident of Callander, Esther died peacefully at the Leisureworld Care Giving Center on, Tuesday, June 14th, 2011, at the age of 91years old. Born Esther Mabel Boyce, in Oak Lake, Manitoba on June 25, 1919 she was the beloved wife of the late Albert Maurice Phillips who predeceased her in 1978. So was also predeceased by her son Dave in 2009. She was the beloved mother in law of Claire of Russell, Ontario. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kimberly of Montreal and Michael of Ottawa. One of six children Esther was predeceased by her brother John and four sisters and is survived by her sisters Saddie in British Columbia. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. A Family Memorial Service was held at the Martyn Funeral Home. Interment of ashes to be in the family plot in the Callander Union Cemetery. If desired donations in memory of Esther to the Cancer Society will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
