January 27TH, 1956-October 24TH, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Bob’s sudden and tragic passing on October 24TH, 2023, in his 68TH year, leaving an immense void in our lives. He has now completed his assignment and has reported for duty with his Lord and Saviour.

Beloved husband of Debbie (Stemplowski) Elliott. Son of the late Constance (Connie) and late Wilburt (Wib) Elliott of North Bay. Dear brother of Nora Elliott-Coutts (Don Coutts) of North Bay. Father of Robert (Rob) Elliott (Laura Lee) and Derek Elliott (Gwen Orit) of Niagara Falls and proud Grandad of Liam. Dear brother-in-law of Brad Stemplowski (Pauline). Much beloved Uncle Spence of Jessica Stemplowski (Josh), and Amanda Stemplowski (Mark), and proud Great Uncle of Kinsley Grace. Greatly missed by his Elliott and Amos cousins.

Raised in North Bay, Bob grew up on Hammond Street with the Paquettes, Gribbons, Loverocks, Manthas, Robertsons, and Stitts. Bob graduated from Chippewa Secondary School with fond memories of football and wrestling teams under Coach Gabor. He joined the RCMP on January 19TH, 1976 (Troop 2475); although his time with the RCMP was short, their training stayed with him for a lifetime. Bob joined the Sarnia Township Police in May 1977, leaving for university in August 1980. During this time, he was blessed with two sons, Rob and Derek.

After police work, Bob spent thirty years working in sales and retail management in wonderful northern places like Wawa, Ear Falls, Winnipeg and Marathon before moving south to Niagara. He found his life partner Deb Stemplowski-Elliott in August 1997. Bob eventually started his own business, BD Services; his last working years were spent as a private investigator working with some of the best criminal lawyers in the Niagara Region.

Bob was a believer in helping those who could not help themselves “Service Above Self’. Bob was a charter member of the Marathon Rotary Club, Past President of the Fort Erie Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a Past President of the Toronto Division of the RCMP Veterans Association. Bob was also the first chairman of the City of Thorold’s Recognition Committee (2006-2019).

Bob would want us all to remember that growing old is matter of mind over matter…if you don’t mind-it don’t matter!
