Elizabeth "Betty" Mihailovic

Posted

Peacefully, after a long battle with cancer, on April 14, 2011 at the age of 66. Beloved wife of Dusan “Dule” Mihailovic for almost 40 years. Cherished and Loving mother of Mihailo (Anya and their four children), Alexandra, and Dawn (James). Survived by her adoring sisters, brother and their families in Scotland and Australia. Betty surrounded her family and friends with endless love and beauty, and contributed to her community as a Registered Nurse and Midwife for over 40 years. After leaving her native Scotland at the age of 25, she worked first in Geraldton and Nipigon, ON delivering babies for both the First Nations and Northern Communities before settling with her family in North Bay in 1980. Here, she cared for our community’s expecting mothers at St. Joseph’s Hospital and then for our sick and dying elderly through both the Mother House and Healthco Medical. Leaving behind her beautiful garden and a smile to be remembered, her loss will be felt by so many that she loved and cared for across the world. Visitation will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home on Sunday, April 17 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 18 at 12:30pm at St. John the Divine Anglican Church, 301 Main Street E North Bay. Interment at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. Those who wish can contribute to the Shriner’s Hospital Fund through the Rorab Shrine Club in her name, an organization she supported whole-heartedly.
