Duhaime, Bernard “Bernie” 76 years (Nov. 13, 1947 Sturgeon Falls- March 31, 2024 North Bay)

Bernie passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday with his wife Sue by his side at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice after a long battle with cancer.

Bernie was the cherished husband of Sue (nee Soili Lindholm) married 58 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons Bruce, John and Michael Duhaime of North Bay and his sisters Linda Duhaime of Edmonton Alberta, Marlene Gauthier, Debbie (Norman Girard) and Brenda Veillieux all of North Bay and grandsons James Boucher and Dylan Duhaime of North Bay and 3 granddaughters Cassie, Kaelynn and Desiree. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and relatives. He is predeceased by his parents Gerald “Peg” Duhaime and Eunice (nee Cosgrove) Duhaime, his brother Gerry Duhaime and brother-in-law Harvey Gauthier.

Bernie was a retired drywall taper. He loved fishing with his friends and family. He coached hockey in Toronto for about 10 years, and hoped to someday see the Leafs win the Stanley cup. He was a great story teller who could make you laugh.

Respecting his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank Kimberly from Smile, the ParaMed Team and the staff of the Nipissing Serenity Hospice, Dr. Hailey Moore and Sylvie Savage N.P for the care and compassion given to Bernie.

Rest in peace Bernie, you will be forever missed.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Nipissing Serenity Hospice will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
